About ThinkySwear
ThinkySwear is a blog exploring consciousness, large language models, complex systems, AI, neuroscience, and evolutionary biology. It offers news analysis, book reviews, and recommendations, and discusses theories such as the geometric Whorfian hypothesis.
About the Author
Tom Moore is a complex‑systems scientist with over two decades' experience modelling and analysing complex adaptive systems. His work has examined how ideas and information propagate through social networks, influenced by advertising and education, and the behavioural outcomes that result. His current research concentrates on cognitive modelling using semantic spaces and large language models. In particular, he is developing the geometric Whorfian hypothesis, which proposes that the geometry of our semantic and conceptual spaces—the "shape" of the spaces between ideas—shapes thought, perception, and behaviour in a Whorfian manner. This geometry is shared with the embedding structures of LLMs; understanding and optimising both LLMs and human consciousness may lie in exploring differential and non‑Euclidean geometries.
